My Paws off Pet Mat does not seem to work as promised...

There are a couple of important points to remember.  The groves in the mat should be orientated in the direction of your pets paws (or perpendicular to the area being protected.  Be patient.  Rewiring the brain can be done in a number of ways but we prefer a slower more gentle approach to this training. Give your pet a chance to spend time on the Mat as the construction of the Mat will continually provide that motivation to move to a more comfortable position in time.  If your pet can stand adjacent to the Mat and reach the area you are trying to protect you might consider enlarging the size of the Mat by adding some additional tiles.  We sell tiles by the piece or you might consider one of our smaller Packs since all the tiles fit together regardless of what Pack you purchased.

My Paws Off Pet Mat is difficult to move when guests come to my home especially with bare feet...

We agree the Mat is heavy and awkward to move around (we made it that way so your pet won't carry it away from the very spot you wish to protect).  Purposefully, the Mat is designed to be uncomfortable for any lingering paw for any length of time.  However, for almost anyone of any age, the Mat is easy to traverse  in or out of any doorway.  If you need a break from the constant deterrent the Mat provides or once your pet has learned to avoid the area, the best solution is to simply put your traditional door mat on top of the Paws Mat allowing smooth passage for those times when the comfort of your guests is more important.  Moving around a typical door mat is much easier than moving your Paws Off Pet Mat. 

My dog seems to have gotten the message, now what?

We recommend leaving the Paws Off Pet Mat in place and topped with your traditional door mat if necessary to give both your family and pets a break so the deterrent aspect of the Paws Mat can be "re-deployed" as needed to reinforce what your pet has learned or to provide deterrence to other pets that visit your home.  If you are done or your pet has gone to greener pastures you might consider giving the mat to a friend, dividing up the tiles and using under outdoor flower pots (prevents the staining of concrete pots typically leave behind).  Smaller sections of the Mat make a good place to knock off mud from work boots. Your Paws Off Pet Mat can be used in your garden to allow plants to be grown through the holes while drastically eliminating the weeds.  Or, the materials are 100% recyclable should you simply choose to discard.
